Abstrak
Geographic Information Systems is a computer based information system that combines elements of the map (geographical) and information about the map (data attributes) that are designed to receive, process, manipulate, analyze and display spatial data to complete the planning, processing and researching of problems. Until now SIG has covered several areas of life, one of which is in the area of mapping the location of the college. In this paper the author makes the application of web-based GIS mapping colleges especially in the islands of Bangka Belitung Pangkalpinang. The information generated from this application include the location address college, college name, course name, college facilities, telephone number and any additional information that is in university. With application of GIS is expected to assist users in finding the location of the college, which is located in the city Pangkalpinang, more easily and quickly. This GIS application built using the software QGIS (QuantumGIS) and OSGeo4W Map Server.
